How can I fix bugs in Word Version 16.105.3 (26020123)?

I updated Word to version Version 16.105.3 (26020123) yesterday. My Word documents created in the previous version now have lost their formatting (e.g., page breaks, sections, etc.). I am a published author of novels and my manuscripts are effected. They are a mess. I can open them on a different laptop that has not been updated and the formatting is as intended. Is there a fix coming for this?

If you haven't done so, first see whether restarting the Mac resolves it. If not...

Without descriptive details [preferably screenshots] it's difficult to be sure but it sounds like it may simply be a matter of the view being used. Go to the View menu or the View tab of the Ribbon to make sure that Print Layout is selected.

If that isn't the remedy please provide a screenshot of the entire document window & include the present Version Number of macOS.

There is nothing an Office update can do to affect the documents, themselves. It's most likely a Preference or display setting. Please don't succumb with the possible replies which jump right to a scorched earth policy of ripping out the software & reinstalling it.

Restarting my laptop did not have any affect. My Mac OS is Sonoma 14.8.2. My document view in Word is on the Print view. I'm not a novice user. I'm an author and editor of four published novels, all written and formatted in Word. The page breaks are missing throughout the 455 page document.
